Hi, Iā€™m Sarah Alroudhan.

I am a child and family psychologist specializing in early childhood development and parental involvement. I have always had a passion working with children and this passion evolved when I went to study psychology. I have worked in multiple clinics and labs dedicated to helping children and families and pursuing the latest studies in supporting this process.

My approach to therapy is to always assume that the family is trying their best to be the best parent that they can be, and that the child is learning to adjust and evolve when dealing with new milestones and challenges in life. My role is to simply assist this process and dynamic and make it smoother and easier for both the child and the family.

Educational Background

I hold a Bachelors of Science degree in Psychology at Northeastern University with a minor in Behavioral Neuroscience. During my studies I involved myself with many programs revolving around treating children and assisting families. I also delved into research by working in multiple research labs in the university; resulting in submitting multiple studies revolving around emotion regulation across the lifespan, Social Anxiety Disorder, and other topics. Later on, I pursued a Master's degree in Psychoanalytic Developmental Psychology at the Anna Freud Centre at University College London.

Work Experience

Following my studies I completed a postdoctoral training at Fawzia Sultan Healthcare Center seeing clients from 3 years old up to late adulthood with various diagnosis and backgrounds. I then transitioned to working at a school setting to be exposed to children of all developmental milestones; working as a kindergarten teacher at the American School of Kuwait for two years and then as an elementary school counselor. These experiences I believe have honed in me a deep understanding of child development, the importance of parent involvement, and the significance of social emotional skills in the early stages of life.
